As of January 1, 2026, the new standard Georgia license plate is a commemorative "USA Semiquincentennial/America 250" design. This replaces the long-running "peach state" plates, featuring a unique, student-designed theme to honor the 250th anniversary of the Revolutionary War, often with the slogan "In God We Trust".

Key Features of Georgia License Plates (2026 Context):

Design: The 2026 standard plate commemorates the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution.

Previous Standard: The prior standard, in use since 2012, is the "peach state" plate, often featuring a peach graphic and the text "In God We Trust".

Text/Layout: The plates feature a combination of letters and numbers, with the county name listed at the bottom.

Alternative Options: Residents may opt for other standard-alternate plates, including Agriculture and Wildlife tags, such as the bobwhite quail, white-tailed deer, and wild turkey design.

Display Requirements: Only a rear license plate is required in Georgia. It must be clearly visible, illuminated, and not obscured by covers.

New 2026 Options: Additional options available from 2026 include a "Selfless Service" plate, "America First," a Georgia State Parks plate, and a bass conservation plate.
