As of 2026, the standard Colorado license plate remains the classic deep forest green background with a white silhouette of the Rocky Mountains, featuring white lettering. This standard plate is available for passenger vehicles, light trucks, and motorcycles. However, in celebration of Colorado's 150th anniversary, the state is heavily promoting new Sesquicentennial license plates, which are available until July 2027, as well as experiencing massive popularity for the black specialty plates.
