As of early 2026, Arkansas continues to use its standard white license plate featuring the "The Natural State" slogan, while introducing a new, highly popular 2026 Conservation License Plate featuring a painted bunting bird. The standard plate format transitioned in recent years to a combination of three letters, two numbers, and one letter to increase available, unique combinations.

Standard Plate Design: Continues to feature the white background with red and blue lettering, branded with "The Natural State".
New Conservation Plate (2026): Released in January 2026, the new Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) plate features a painted bunting designed by AGFC Art Director Greta James.
Plate Requirements: Only one rear license plate is required; front plates are not issued.
Digital/Physical Status: Physical plates with renewal stickers are still in use as of April 2026.
Specialty Plates: The 2026 Conservation plate is available for an extra $35 ($25 of which supports conservation programs).
